Holy Saviour's Church, also known as Amenaprkich, is a 19th-century church of the Armenian Apostolic Church on the southern side of Vartanants Square in the centre of Gyumri. It was built between 1858 and 1872 and consecrated in 1873, and is a large domed basilica.

Sev Berd, the Black Fortress, is a 19th-century Russian imperial fortress on a hill in Gyumri, about 8 kilometres from the Turkish border. It was built in response to the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-1829, with the first stones laid in 1834 and the full fortification taking about a decade, and it takes its name from the black stone of its round structure.
